ComedK entrance test on May 6. Karnataka government still hoping for common Karnataka CET.
Article Posted: 18-01-2007

The Consortium of Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges in Karnataka (Comed-K) 2007 will conduct its entrance test for admission to management quota seats in undergraduate professional colleges on May 6.

With the announcement of the Comed-K Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) date, having a single entrance test for admission to both government and management quota seats in professional colleges this year look very difficult.

The Karnataka government is still of a solution, however. The Higher Education Minister said he would arrange a meeting with the Comed-K members and sort out the issue in the interest of students.

The government really needs to act fast, if it really wants to find a solution which is in favor of the students. Students applying for professional colleges are already faced with a number of entrance examinations to appear for, and having two entrance examinations for colleges in one state itself is the last thing they would be hoping for.
